Shackleton is delving deep into the latest industry insight by launching a series of sector reports designed to uncover which brands have the most effective and engaging PR and social media presence.

The first is a social media study which looks at the consumer electronics retail sector. It has been compiled using a unique formula to analyse the social media performance of 25 online retail brands which specialise in consumer electronics or sell a large range of technology within their product portfolio.

It looks closely at how brands in the sector performed on channels such as Facebook, Twitter and Youtube with the formula based on criteria such as audience reach, engagement and social shares.

Chris Hughes, commercial director for Shackleton PR, commented: “We’ve focused on the consumer electronics sector first because technology clearly has a close synergy with social media and its audience are huge consumers of the web and platforms such as Twitter and YouTube.

“We also noticed that retailers operating across this sector are increasingly recognising social media as integral to their business and marketing strategy - improving areas such as customer service, customer loyalty, reputation management, brand awareness and reach.”
